Not A Rookie This Year!

Well, Macy definately was not a rookie this year at the 2010 Rookie Run! This little heart kid ran with heart! When we got to the start line, I could see lots of other parents who were running with their kids. I had already told Macy she was to run on her own, and she did! She got down to the turn around point, saw Jeremy and McKenna, and thought she was done. Jeremy yelled, "Keep going Macy!" So she took off again! It may have been 85 degrees out, but that sure didn't stop her! We are so proud of our little runner!

Honorary Degrees in Motherhood

Being a mother doesn't just entitle you being called a "mom". When you are a mother, you do jobs that you would've never dreamt you would or could do. I have decided that as mothers, we deserves some recognition!

Here are some of the honorary degrees I think we deserve!


Housekeeping- Pre-Requisites are: home organization, speed cleaning 101, and
finer techniques of laundry sorting.

Chef- We're preparing breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack...might as well have a degree in catering!

Finance- moms around the world have learned the fine art of managing insufficient funds with coupon clipping and searching weekly ads.

Doctor- Most moms can make the diagnosis without even seeing the doctor! "Well, looks like another ear infection!"

Nursing- Pre-Requisites include: Safety 101, Proper Technique of using a rectal thermometer, and Basic First Aid.

Psychology- dealing with the daily tears, giggles, and tantrums make us all well qualified!

Sanitation Engineer- Diapers should be labled "Toxic Waste"...enough said!

Early Childhood Education- teaching toddlers all those babic ABCs and 123s are easy, it's when you have to start explaining the basics of anatomy that gets tough.

Elementary Education- At this age, you sometimes even teach them things you don't want them to know.

Secondary Education- I think handling teens not only gives you this degree, but you may also need some full body armor and lots of prayers.

Engineer- Have you ever had to put together a child's toy?

Search and Rescue- Now where did that Little Critter book go? It was due at the library YESTERDAY!

Criminal Justice- Not only are you handling all of that conflic/resolution, but you better start getting practice at your detective skills....you'll need it when they get into those teen years.


Well, those are just a few of the honorary degrees that WE deserve, but there are SO MANY MORE!!! What degrees can you think of?

She Has The Eye Of The Tiger!

Macy participated last year in the 2009 Rookie Run. She ran her heart out, stopped to help a fallen friend, and finished 3rd to last place. Well, Macy has decided she is not going to let that happen again this year. This determined little girl has been training for the big race that will take place this weekend.

Eye to Eye

When I look at the girls next to eachother, they definately look alike to me. So I thought for fun I would compare their different features individually. It is amazing how much alike a 5 month old and a 4 year old can look.

They both have mommy's lips, but their chins look a lot like Aunt Jessica's (Jeremy's sister).

Surprisingly, their noses are nothin alike. I am not so sure where McKenna's nose came from, but Macy sure has a VanVleet nose!

And look at those eyes. Daddy's blue eyes complimented by beautiful long lashes.

The only difference is Macy's dark lashes vs. McKenna's blonde lashes.

I had to pay really close attention to their hair in these next pics just to be able to tell which ear belonged to which girl :) Their adorable little ears are a perfect mix of Jeremy and me.

Their features may be pretty similar, but their personalities couldn't be on the more opposite ends of the spectrum. But as they say opposites attract...these two little girls love eachother! It's music to my ear to hear Macy say on a daily basis, "McKenna's my best friend!"

A Castle Fit For A Princess!

Jeremy had the day off today for election day....yes, he works for the government :), so we headed to a park. Jeremy had seen this park one day when he was out of the office working on a job, and thought it looks like a lot of fun. IT WAS!!! Not only was it a blast, but it was very safe. The entire park was built by volunteers about 20 years ago.

For all of you in the Indianapolis area that want to check this park out, it is on Oaklandon. Take 465 to Pendelton Pike. Head east on Pendelton Pike, turn left on Oaklandon Drive. The park is a few blocks ahead on the right. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
