Introducing Baby Carlos

Have you ever seen the movie The Hangover? If not, it's a must see....hilarious, naughty, hilarious, funny, hilarious, disturbing....did I say hilarious?!?!?

Well the other day as we were heading out for a walk, I looked at Jeremy and realized he looked just like Alan from The Hangover, and McKenna looked like Carlos.
Here's Jeremy and McKenna:

Here's Alan and Carlos:

And then I just happened to find this t-shirt that you can buy. Oh, I so want to buy it for Jeremy, but then I thought why buy him the shirt when he has the real thing :)

I am so happy that wearing a baby in the front pack is the only thing in our lives that is similar to the movie The Hangover...if you've seen the movie, you know what I mean!

McKenna's 4 Month Check-up!

I know, I know, she is almost 5 months, but that is just the schedule we are on. Not only did she get weighed and measured, but she also got an oral med and some shots. As soon as she got that first shot, she started screaming her head off! She had gigantic tears running down her face, but at least she didn't hold her breath and turn blue like last time!

Here are her stats:

Weight: 14 lbs, 1 oz (25-50%)
Height: 24" (25%)
Head: 16 1/4 " (50%)

She is doing great! She is continuing to be a champion breastfeeder! As a matter of fact, she won't even take a bottle......I definately need to work on that. Our doctor told us that we could start food with her, so we are now giving her 1 meal a day. She has started out with rice cereal, and will start next week with carrots and sweet potatoes. Today she ate all of her rice cereal and is getting a hang of eating with a spoon already! If you haven't heard me say it before, she is the BEST BABY EVER!!!!

Oh, and not to be out done by her little sister, Macy decided to give us the "baby plays with her toes" pose also! I know, she is definately weird! Doesn't get it from me!

Are You Kidding?

In order to get my daily run in, this is what I have to deal with.......

Usually about 9 minutes into my run, McKenna starts fussing, which turns into screaming and tears.

Note the tear running down her cheek. (And the spit-up and "fuss" drool on her shirt)

Today, just to remind me that I am a mommy.....or maybe to just make me crazy, this is what Macy did to the toy room.

Note the 7 puzzles she chose to get out and mix ALL the pieces up!

Sorry girls, but Mommy deserves to exercise. Sorry Jeremy, but I have decided to leave the mixed up puzzle pieces on the floor for you when you get home. I know you and Macy could use some quality "Daddy/Macy" time together...just thought I would contribute a project :)

Superheroes To The Rescue!

Have you ever thought about all of the superheroes you have right on your family? Well, in my family, everyone is a superhero in their own special way.

Check out their names!

McKenna is Duchess Drool.....her slimy drool can drown her villian!

My Mom (Kelli), who begged me to make her Wonder Woman, is the Yarn Wizard...the enemy doesn't stand a chance against her ability to string something out of nothing!

Jeremy's Dad (Mark) is the Aqua Man. No villian stands a chance against his mixture of chemicals and chlorine....it's a normal man's kryptonite.

According to Jeremy, I am Sir Sneeze Alot. My powerful sneezes can blow away the enemy.

My Dad (Dick) is Dr. Deepfry...those fish and french fries don't stand a chance against his powerful ability to deepfry them into a tasty meal.

Macy is The Divanater. Her pure divaness, will cause her enemies to stand in confusion. How can a body so small contain so much energy, attitude, and spunk?

Jeremy's Mom (Lisa) is Jazzersize Jane...no enemy can outlast the queen of Jazzersize.

Jeremy is Turbo Tickler. His mighty tickles will cause any villian to curl in the fetal position and gasp for air.
Who are the superheroes in your family?

Success!

Surgery was a success!

Up bright and early at 5 am, getting ready to head to the hospital. All smiles!!!

Dressed in her surgery pajamas, and still smiling!
Baby sister McKenna arrived (Daddy brought her), which made Macy even happier!
During Macy's surgery, McKenna slept and chewed on her fingers. Not as happy without Macy!
After being in surgery for 1 1/2, Macy returned to our room, asking for a popsicle She's not so happy.
Macy definately wasn't smiling anymore on the car ride home!

That wonderful smile has returned to her face today! We are so happy she is back to herself!

Thanks for all the prayers for another successful surgery!

Number 19

Well, it's time for another surgery. On Monday morning, Macy will be having surgery to repair her teeth. I haven't gone into a lot of details about this because I am dreading it. Not only am I worried about Macy going through another surgery, but I am not happy about it. What really gets me about all of this is that all of her other health issues are the contributing factors to the need for this surgery. The Pediasure, constant vomiting, medications, and stress that have surrounded Macy for the past 4 years have really damaged her teeth. She will not only be having a few cavities filled, but she will also be having some crowns placed on her teeth. I get really worked up about it, but as my brother reminded me this week, this is what is best for Macy.

We will be arriving bright and early on Monday morning (6:15 a.m.) to have this surgery. Things can be really tricky with Macy due to her metabolism issues, therefore we have to be the first case of the day. She also has to have sugar in her IV fluids, and some kind of sugar immediately when she wakes up. This surgery marks #19 for Macy. Jeremy and I went back and listed all of the surgeries she has been through.

Macy has had all of these surgeries under general anesthesia:
7 broncoscopies
3 airway surgeries
2 CT scans
2 heart caths
2 heart repairs
1 veno-gram & liver biopsy
1 hernia repair
And now 1 dental surgery

I keep reminding myself that this will hopefully be her last dental surgery. Macy is no longer vomiting. Macy is still on Pediaure, but taking less than she was, plus I now brush her teeth after each drink of Pediasure. There were times when Macy was on 6 or 7 medications. She is now only taking 3! And, her body appears to be in much less stress than it used to be. Hopefully when she loses these teeth, she will grow in very healthy adult teeth!

Please put my little one in your prayers as we endure #19 tomorrow morning. I will update when we are home resting.

Things That Drive Me Bonkers!

1. Getting a package in the mail, and every edge is taped so tightly that you have to used your scissors like a knife to get it open.

2. When you are driving along and have to slam your brakes on... and your purse and its contents go flying on the floor.

3. When people walk against traffic in the mall.

4. When you are boiling pasta or potatoes and your pot bubbles over.

5. When in the shower, you squeeze the body soap to squirt some on your loofa, and it sputters out in small glops. Oops, that was what you forgot to get at the store.

6. When you wake up from sleeping with a cold (plugged up nose), and it feels like someone stuck cotton balls in your mouth. Same can be said about drinking too much red wine.

7. When a telemarketer calls the house, and you know it's them because after you say, "hello", there is a huge pause of dead air.

8. Pouring a bowl of cereal and then realizing there isn't enough milk in the carton to even fill a tablespoon.

9.When you are eating an icecream cone and the icecream starts dripping out of the bottom of the cone. Then you have to not only have to maintain the icecream on top, but also the icecream that is dripping out of the bottom, and running all over your feet.

10. Finding the perfect shirt when you go shopping, and they have 5 of them in XS, and 10 of them in 3X, and none in your size.

Just a few things that drive me bonkers.....leave a comment about what drives you bonkers!!!
