Ummmm

I hate the word "ummmm". Okay, I may say "ummm" every once in a while, and I am by no means a professional speaker.......but seriously Jim Irsay!
Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, held a press conference tonight to speak about Marvin Harrison leaving the team. In his 4 minute speech, he said "ummm" 70 times. Yes, 70 times!!!!!!
Jeremy and I sat there listening to his speech, and ended up in pure laughter by the end! Luckily we have a DVR, so we pressed rewind, listened again, and kept tallies! 70 times in 4 minutes averages out to 17.5 "ums" per minute. Seriously Jim Irsay!!!

And The Award Goes To......
In honor of the Academy Awards, I've decided to give a few Oscars of my own to some of the people that mean the most to me!

The "Polar Pop" Award goes to Mamaw. I cannot tell you the last time I saw her without a Polar Pop in her hand. (A Polar Pop is a $0.79 huge fountain soda)
The "Interior Decorator" Award goes to Grandma Kelli. She can pretty much make anything from blankets and pillows to curtains and box pleats. I am hoping to get at least one more window treatment finished during her visit when she comes in a couple days :)
The "I fawted (farted)" Award goes to Macy, who loves to tell that to everyone who walks by at the store, right after she lets one rip!
The "whh whh whhh whhh whh whh," Award goes to Grandpa Dick. If you didn't name that tune....it's the Andy Griffith theme song, in which he whistles to Macy on the telephone every time they talk. She absolutely loves it!!!
The "my blanket" Award goes to Papaw, who loves to torment Macy by stealing her blankie, in which Macy yells back, "No, mine!!!"
The "No more dead fish" Award goes to Uncle Corey. If it wasn't for Corey, we would have 5 dead fish by now, not just 3. He stepped in to the save our final two remaining fish. Who knew you couldn't feed them a handful of food?
The "I have a gigantic engagement ring" Award goes to Aunt Jessica. Thanks to Jessica, I am in the process of working on an upgrade! Jeremy is not so sure about that!
And Finally, the most prestigious award of the night:
The "I was not just singing Hannah Montana" Award goes to Jeremy. Okay honey, whatever you say.

Baby Brother
Macy has now informed me that she wants a baby brother, and she wants him to be named "Liam". Why Liam? Well, Macy has a new buddy named Liam, and she is semi-obsessed with him. Liam and his mommy and daddy hung out with us yesterday, and Macy just can't get enough. When she fell asleep last night, Liam was still here....so when she woke up this morning, she was yelling "baby Liam", "my Liam", "Liam here"! It was so cute, but then I had to break her heart by telling her that Liam wasn't here anymore and that he went home. About 9 a.m., Tucker started barking, for no reason whatsoever, and Macy, of course, bolted down the stairs screaming "Liam here, Liam here!" Heart broken again....."no Liam is at his house". So this afternoon when playing in her toy room, and pretending to put babies asleep in the pack-n-play that we set up for Liam yesterday, Macy said "baby brother". I said, "Oh, you want a baby brother?" She said "yes!" I then asked her what she wanted to name her baby brother, to which she replied "Baby Liam!" She is just too cute!!!!
Check out adorable little Liam.....and happy little Macy! Also, we have now have a guestbook on our site. You can leave us a message. It is located on the left side bar. Also, we would love to get some more sponsors for out March of Dimes walk! All you need to do it click on "sponsor me" on our March of Dimes button. Also, we will be posting Jeremy's 25 things this week!!!!!!

Seven Years Ago
So when is it that things in your life change so much? You know……it’s like you wake up one day and say…..”wow!”, things are so different than they used to be. Take Valentine’s Day for instance. Seven years ago was the most romantic Valentine’s Day of my life. Seven years ago, on one knee, Jeremy asked me to marry him. He couldn’t even wait until our romantic dinner that night. He was so excited that he came over to my apartment, in the middle of the day, while I was napping, and proposed. It was so cute! I spent the rest of the day calling everyone to tell them about my news.
Saturday, February 14th, 7 years post engagement; I woke up totally forgetting that it was Valentine’s Day. The day was spent just like any other Saturday, playing games, relaxing at home, and playing baby dolls and pretend play with Macy. Late afternoon, my brother Corey came over for a visit. It wasn’t until dinner time that I remembered that this day had some sort of significance to it. The gifts had been stored in the closet for weeks now……if you know me……I do everything weeks in advance. I plan our dinner calendars one month in advance……yes, I’m a little neurotic. So, what did we do to make this a Valentine’s Day to remember? We got a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s. Real romantic!!!
You know though, I wouldn’t change it for the world. There is just something about being at home, ordering a pizza, and staying in my pj’s all day long…..just as long as I’m with my family! Jeremy and I were talking about our Valentine’s Day three years ago. We spent most of the day at the hospital trying to make our daughter’s first Valentine’s Day the most special day on earth. It was her first official holiday after all! When we got home that night, my mom, who was staying with us to help us out, had dinner ready. So there we sat, Jeremy, Mom, and I dining on our Valentine’s dinner, just the 3 of us….and missing Macy the whole time. We sure have come a long way in the last three years!!!!

Well, Valentine’s Day may not have been the most romantic day in my household this year, but for my sister-in-law, she had the most romantic Valentine’s Day she will probably ever have. Jessica is now engaged!!! Congratulations Jessica and Nate!!!!! We are so excited to welcome Nate to the family!

Sponsor Me at March for Babies!

In honor of CHD (Congenital Heart Defect) Awareness Week:
The word "heart" earned a new meaning when:
I heard my baby's heartbeat for the first time.
I held my premature baby in my arms.
My husband said there might be something wrong.
A doctor visited holding onto diagrams of the heart.
Doctors uttered the words "heart defect".
They took my daughter from my arms to take her to a better qualified hospital.
The word “heart” earned a new meaning when:
I heard the words "septal, valve, ventricle, surgery".
I felt her chest just to make sure it was still beating.
I started watching for signs of cyanosis.
I began attending appointments for echoes, EKGs, and chest x-rays, and I start to understand what I am looking at on the screen or what the report says.
I learned to fear public parks, restaurants, movies, and stores.
I started wiping down anything before, during, and after my child touched it.
I relied on a heart monitor just so I could get some sleep at night.
I gave dose after dose of propanolol, asprin, aldactone, and lasix.
The word “heart” earned a new meaning when:
My husband cried with me while we watched our daughter sleep, on the morning of her open-heart surgery.
I handed my child to a surgeon not knowing what the future held.
I sat next to my child, in the ICU, praying I would get a glimpse of the child I remembered before surgery.
My beautiful child has a chest full of battle wounds that she will proudly show off for the rest of her life.
The word “heart” earned a new meaning when:
I realized my life will never be the same due to my child’s special little heart.
The word “heart” earned a new meaning when:
I see how much “heart” is packed into the little body of my amazing little fighter!
We love you Macy! You are our hero!
Heart Hugs,

Macy's Ballerina Ball
What a better way to start off our brand new family blog, than with a celebration. What celebration? Well Macy’s birthday of course!
A famous little ballerina made her 3rd birthday debut on Saturday for some of her loyal followers. Macy Elaine VanVleet entered the ballroom wearing a stunning pink, silky bodysuit and tights. Over that she sported a fluffy, yet elegant pink tutu. A ballerina’s costume can’t be complete without beautiful pink ballet slippers, although her hair was what caught the spectators’ eyes. Designed by her mother, her hair was pulled back into tight bow, with elegant ribbons hanging down toward her back.

During Act I, Macy dined on an Italian Cuisine, while the onlookers watch her decorate her face with a tomato sauce.
An impressive Act II consisted of Macy entertaining her audience by gracefully ripping the paper from her wonderful gifts. Her facial expressions were exquisite. Due to the emotions taking place in this act, photographs were permitted.
During the Final Act, Macy indulged on a delicious baked treat, which was embellished with delicious icing, and depicted the shoes of a fancy ballerina.

An Encore was demanded by her excited fans! Therefore, Macy did not disappoint by dancing her self-choreographed dance to the tune of “The Best of Both Worlds”, by world renowned artist Hannah Montana.
Macy VanVleet’s Final Bow took place with her placing her tired little head on her pillow that night, curled up with her new Hannah Montana blanket, and listening to the buzz of her new fish tank, which was a gift from her mother and father.
What an event to see at the VanVleet residence on Saturday night! Macy Elaine VanVleet never fails to entertain and impress her loyal followers. Bravo, bravo!!!
