Saturday, February 14th, 7 years post engagement; I woke up totally forgetting that it was Valentine’s Day. The day was spent just like any other Saturday, playing games, relaxing at home, and playing baby dolls and pretend play with Macy. Late afternoon, my brother Corey came over for a visit. It wasn’t until dinner time that I remembered that this day had some sort of significance to it. The gifts had been stored in the closet for weeks now……if you know me……I do everything weeks in advance. I plan our dinner calendars one month in advance……yes, I’m a little neurotic. So, what did we do to make this a Valentine’s Day to remember? We got a heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s. Real romantic!!!
You know though, I wouldn’t change it for the world. There is just something about being at home, ordering a pizza, and staying in my pj’s all day long…..just as long as I’m with my family! Jeremy and I were talking about our Valentine’s Day three years ago. We spent most of the day at the hospital trying to make our daughter’s first Valentine’s Day the most special day on earth. It was her first official holiday after all! When we got home that night, my mom, who was staying with us to help us out, had dinner ready. So there we sat, Jeremy, Mom, and I dining on our Valentine’s dinner, just the 3 of us….and missing Macy the whole time. We sure have come a long way in the last three years!!!!
Well, Valentine’s Day may not have been the most romantic day in my household this year, but for my sister-in-law, she had the most romantic Valentine’s Day she will probably ever have. Jessica is now engaged!!! Congratulations Jessica and Nate!!!!! We are so excited to welcome Nate to the family!
