Yes...the bird was in my grill....Ahhhhhhh!!!!! In mid conversation I said to the other mom, "I did hit a bird!!!" She said, "What? How do you know?" I said, "LOOK!" We both stood there looking in shock. Our shocked looks were nothing compared to the look on Macy's face. Not only did she look shocked, but she looked like she might vomit. After 2 minutes of convincing Macy it was okay to get into the van, she climbed in and off we went. The minute we pulled out of the parking lot, I hear crying coming from one of the seats behind me. It, of course, was Macy. She said, "But Mom, why did you hit that bird?" We had a long discussion about what happened, and how I didn't mean to hit the bird.
In the meantime, I called Jeremy. He simply told me to take a stick and "pluck" it out. Are you kidding me? I was not even about to pull the van in the garage!
That incident happened around 11:30 a.m.........5 hours later when Jeremy pulled down our road, what did he see? Yes, our van was parked in the road. I wasn't kidding when I said I was not hoinh to pull it into the garage. He grabbed an old broom handle and "plucked" that bird out. And then left it on the road! Seriously, shouldn't we bury it or something? Oh well, I wasn't about it touch it. I was just happy I could park my van back in the garage!
To make matters worse, we had another animal incident the very next day. Jeremy was holding onto our new gecko, Mr. Spock. Mr. Spock decided it would be a good idea to hop off Jeremy's hand onto the floor. Either he got scared when he hit the carpet, or he got scared when he saw Tucker...either way, he was scared enough that he dropped his tail. It was still hanging on a bit when Jeremy tossed him back in his cage.
The weirdest part of it all was that Mr. Spock then grabbed his tail with his mouth, pulled it off the rest of the way, and ATE IT! After the shock of watching all of that I realized Macy, once again, was crying. "Honey, why are you crying? It's going to be okay."
After she finally calmed herself down she explained, "I was crying because I thought we were going to have to take him to the emergency room, or flush him down the toilet like our fish!"
Bless her delicate little heart! She is so caring!
Here's a pic of Mr. Spock now....poor little fellow.
Luckily he is suppossed to grow his tail back!
Happy Monday :)
