As a family, we love to spend time outdoors....going to the park, taking walks, swimming in the pool, or heading to the lake. On this particular day, it was 95* outside, toooooo hot to take the girls out for fun.
As weird as it might be, my girls wake up at 7:15-7:30 almost everyday. Yes, they both wake up together...so weird!!! McKenna gets that VERY soaked diaper changed and Macy heads to the restroom, and we make our way downstairs for breakfast.
Macy is AMAZINGLY only on 2 medications, and one of them is a chewable!!! We are so excited for her! She takes her meds and then drinks 8 ounces of Pediasure and munches on a little cereal for breakfast. The reasonfor the Pediasure and not regular milk is that Pediasure is 30 calories per ounce, and is helping her to gain weight (which she isn't doing very well).
While Macy eats breakfast, so does McKenna. Breakfast for McKenna is still just breastmilk. After breakfast, the girls watch their favorite show, "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". This is so I can eat my breakfast in peace. Sometimes I will do a little work for my First Steps job while they watch this show.
After the show, we usually play for a while. Sometimes it's dress-up or restuarant. Other times it's Little People or baby dolls. This particular day it was Mega Blocks. Macy is enjoying being creative and building many unique buildings and cars. McKenna likes to pull them out of the bag, throw them across the room, or chew on them :)
After some play, we head upstairs to get dressed.
Macy enjoys being a big girl and getting herself ready! She usually picks out her own outifts. Sometimes they match, sometimes they TOTALLY don't! Unless we have somewhere special to go, I usually just let her wear whatever she picks out. She also helps me to pick out McKenna's outfits.

Downstairs for some exercise. McKenna now does lots of crawling! She is pretty fast too! She still enjoys playing in her exersaucer and her jumperoo (much thanks to our great neighbors for letting us borrow theirs).
On this day, Macy was back to building :) She was making a car this time.
Each day we usually have somewhere we have to go like, the library, to get groceries, the post office, the bank, etc. On this day, it was grocery day! When McKenna was still using her carrier, I would place her carrier in the basket of the cart, and Macy would sit in the seat. I had NO room for our groceries!!!! When McKenna learned to sit independently, I started letting Macy sit in the basket and put McKenna in the seat. She usually got tried 20 minutes into our trip and wanted out. It didn't work either! Then I discovered the carts that let the kids still next to eachother, facing forward. Same thing happened, she got tired of it after 20 minutes. On this particular day, I tried out the cart in the picture. McKenna got to sit next to Macy, but she could kind of relax at the same time. After 3 attempts of Miss Houdini trying to escape out of the straps, I then realized it didn't really work either. I guess we'll just keep searching for a solution to our grocery cart problem :)
Did you notice Macy holding the list? It is her job to tell me what items we need. She loves it! When we get home, she also loves helping me unpack and put away all the groceries. She is such a great help.
After grocery time, it is time for some more focused play. McKenna is check out a photo album we got as a present. It contains pictures of people in her life who love her. We like to go through the pictures and say their names. McKenna mostly just likes to chew on it :)
On this day, Macy worked on counting. She loves to practice counting with the frogs on a log!

McKenna continued to chew!
Macy moved on to writing practice. I made a sheet for her to practice her name. I would love to say she loves this, but she just doesn't. She loves it for about 1 minute, and then decides she doesn't want to do it anymore.
Lunchtime! Yes, she is eating a microwave dinnner....I'll admit it! Once and a while on grocery day, I allow her to pick out a microwave dinner. She thinks it's the coolest thing ever....yuck! As you can see, she is also drinking 8 more ounces of Pediasure! Have you ever smelled that stuff? Another yuck!
While Macy eats, so does McKenna. Breastmilk once again......what a variety!
After lunch is naptime. I would love to say McKenna naps in her crib on a set nap schedule...like I had with Macy, but she doesn't. She usually falls asleep laying on me. It's our special cuddletime! After she is sounds alseep I usually put her in her boppy or swing, to finish her nap so I can finally eat my lunch.
Even at the age of 4, Macy, usually, still takes an afternoon nap.
McKenna is a cap napper, so it's not long after Macy falls asleep that McKenna wakes up. So we play "quietly", until Macy gets up. She loves musical instruments and her big blocks :)
Tucker usually naps during "nap time"!
Still playing, and still chewing!

You would think with all this chewing, she would be getting teeth!?!?!? Nope! Not a tooth in sight!

More playtime, this time out in the toy room. We were playing with play food, and creating meals for Macy when she woke up. Yes, she is still chewing :)

After Macy gets up, it's usually snack time. We wanted to be outside so bad on this day, but like I said, it was way too hot. So instead of heading outside to play, we headed outside for snacktime.
My girls love eachother soooo much!!!!! We didn't stay out long due to the heat, and I had some sad little girls when it was time to head in. If it's snacktime for Macy, that usually means it's meal time for McKenna too. She eats every 4 hours!

A day doesn't go by without some sort of household chores. Macy loves to help! Here she is helping me by washing her own snack bowl before placing it in the dishwasher. Such a big girl!

She also helps me with the laundry! We also spend some time cleaning up the house before Daddy gets home. While we're cleaning, Macy loves to belt out "The Clean-up Song", which we taught her around the age of 1. It's so cute!!

Oh my goodness, Daddy is home! Macy greets Daddy each day with a giant hug and kiss!

Loved having a "peek" into your day-- your girlies are just darling! Re. the grocery cart situation... perhaps I'm just mean, but I fully expected my kiddos to walk next to me by the time they were 3 or so. If I were you, I would just put McKenna in the seat and have Macy walk alongside you, perhaps "helping" push the cart. You'll have a lot more grocery space and Macy will be able to help "entertain" her baby sister while you do what needs to be done. :)
